Once upon a time, there was a giraffe named G and a Zebra named Z. These two animals are best friends that love going to school together. They love playing with each other, but sometimes they like playing with the same thing. On this particular day, these two friends wanted to play with the same red car.
One of the highlights from this week was the puppet show created and 'acted' by Ms. Wilson! This time, the theme was sharing and taking turns, which is very challenging task especially for two and three years old. From the beginning of school year, we have been working with the Bambini children to show how to negotiate with one another by helping them problem solving and modeling. We have been also reading a book " Sharing" by Elizabeth Verdick to support what we have been practicing.
The message from the book and the puppet show as well as our daily practice was using words. Instead of grabbing a toy from his/her friend, we encourage the children to use their language capabilities. Simple phrases such as , "My turn", "Can I have a turn?" , or “Can I use it when your done?" are simple yet very effective way of resolving challenging situations.

Face, Feeling and Identity
Continued from the last week, we made the materials available for the children to explore the theme 'face'. By allowing them to explore facial features, we are hoping to help increase not only their vocabularies, but also develop the sense of self and the awareness of their feelings.
In the book corner, a few children created face with felt pieces.

“Some eye and eye…and then scarf. This is a bell.” "It's look like me, but it's not!"
Another child decided to create a face of the baby at the art table.
