Morning Meeting are one of the most important parts of the day at Bennett Day School. It provides the children with the opportunities to practice sharing, develop social skills and awareness, and build respect and sense of community in the classroom. We typically start with a morning greeting song, followed by body movement, sometimes Spanish with Ms. Harpole or a group story time depending on the day. This week, the SK children presented a "Gingerbread Man" puppet show to the Bambini children.
You probably remember how challenging the Morning Meeting used to be for many of the Bambini children in September. As the school year progresses, so does the children's attention and understanding of the expectations at group time. As you can see in the movie, the children are more able to engage in the activity at Morning Meeting.

In this activity, the children are encouraged to greet others by their names, have eye contact, and take turns. This is one of the many ways where the children foster their language and social skills in the classroom.
Thank you for letting us be part of your children's journey! We wish you wonderful holidays and have a joyful and peaceful New Year. See you in 2015!
